Within the tool kit you will find the work books that address the insights into the common failings in work experience.
Insight 1 – All about me. It can be difficult to get young people talking about them selves and their skills and aspirations. The work book provides a simple personality test to help start this discussion.
Insight 2 – Look Behind the Scenes. It is difficult for young people to understand the full range of jobs that are available. This work book links personality types to jobs and helps the young person explore what the job is about.
Insight 3 – Careers Happen. Most young people think that careers are linear – you start as a teacher and retire as an old teacher. This is rarely the case today. We provide a work book that helps the young person explore with a few experienced colleagues, how their career started, how it developed and how they have got to their current role.
Each insight has a supporting work book and there are a wide range of other resources available.
