Toolkit
The Toolkit has been developed as a useful resource for all those using the Young Chamber concept. It addresses all four key parties: Chambers, schools, business and young students and explains the need and relevance for introducing this exciting concept to the UK. The toolkit demonstrates the benefits to each key audience and with case studies and easy-to-use pro formas, shows how this connectivity between young people and schools can be managed creatively and successfully. The myriad ways in which the business community can connect with young people are explained, using examples of best practice. The Toolkit describes how to set up a Young Chamber Council in schools, along with providing all the necessary protocols for running it democratically. Checklists for each party are included which should enable the infrastructure of Young Chamber to be established with ease.
The Toolkit does not provide a definitive route for all to follow; it provides a secure base for those licenced users to use in a way which best suits them.
Finally, the Toolkit demonstrates how Young Chamber can make sense of the statutory agenda of work-related learning and enterprise in schools, by using the expertise of the business community in a coherent way with young people at its heart.
