Witton Park Summer Fete, Blackburn

The Young Chamber Council at Witton Park, Blackburn organised a school summer fete, with several stalls raising money for Sue Ryder Care- sponsor a village in Malawi. The YC were in charge of rounding up all stalls, looking at business plans from fellow students in order to make a decision if they could sell their products on the day. Some YC members opening up their own smoothie making stall which was a massive success. The YC sourced their own supplier to sell key rings, fair trade chocolate, face painting, nail painting, books, custom cards, a lucky dip bottle stall and much much more. Several skills including team work, negotiation, financial control, marketing and sales were all developed. The YC wrote to local schools and retirement homes inviting the residents along to enjoy the afternoon. A very well organised and successful event took place at the school.
