Over Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th of March, during the half term holidays, Lizzie Louden and Haajarah Malek took part in work experience at the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
When we were appointed the roles of LYC President and Finance Director we were also offered the opportunity to do work experience to develop skills that could help us fulfill our roles and succeed in our future careers. It has been a great experience seeing and working in an office environment.
Over the course of these two days we looked at what the diverse schools involved in the LYC (London Young Chamber) were organising and noted down what business support they would need for these events. We then called up companies and businesses asking whether they could use their skills to help the schools involved and emailed them all the details. We also wrote a press-release on the London Young Chamber’s upcoming 'Capital Careers 2010’ event.
Everybody in the office is very friendly and welcoming and it was a great experience and we would love to spend more time at the London Chamber of Commerce.
