Rutland Radio’s, Rob Persani took on the bucking bronco and bungee run challenge against Casterton staff and students at the annual summer fete.
The Casterton summer fete took place on June 23rd with a world cup theme. Students packed the hall to cheer on England before participating in a wide variety of fun fete events. Students competed in their Houses to raise most money from House themed tombolas and stalls. Students also took their House pride seriously in physical challenges such as the Tug of War and the Bungee Run.
The Young Chamber at Casterton supported the fete by hiring a Bronco Bull and a Bungee Run and challenging local DJ, Rob Persani of Rutland Radio, to ride the Bronco and run the Bungee against Young Chamber President Dale Taylor. The Young Chamber also challenged a member of staff to represent each of the Houses to ride the Bronco as well as convincing the two Vice Principals to rise to the challenge! On 9th July Dale was interviewed live on air by Rob to announce the results which saw PE teacher Mr. Weller achieve the best staff time but students Bob Cliffe and Harriet Ferris achieving the longest time overall.
Ms V Crosher, Principle, said:
"I’d like to say a special thank you to the summer fete Committee and to the pupils and their families who helped to make it a great success. The college is also very grateful to all the local businesses that kindly supported the event. It has been a truly enterprising event!"
